Admissions brochures rarely answer what matters to us. Ask for the CIP code and STEM status, the international student employment outcomes, whether career services has employer relationships that sponsor, and how responsive the DSO office is. A STEM CIP code makes you eligible for the 24-month OPT extension, which means up to three years of work authorization and two extra shots at the H-1B lottery.
